How to Install the Monitor Defender™
Environmental Problems with Bubble Bags
Single-Use Plastic Waste
Bubble bags are almost always single-use, once torn, dirty, or with tape, they can't be reused. Most end up in landfill or incineration after just one move.
Difficult to Recycle
Many are multi-layer materials (plastic + adhesive + paper labels). which makes them incompatible with curb side recycling. Film plastic recycling programs exist, but collection rates are extremely low - most businesses don't separate them. If landfilled, they can take hundreds of years to degrade and may fragment into microplastics.
Carbon-Intensive to Manufacture
Made from LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene) using fossil fuels. Producing 1 kg of LDPE emits roughly 4 kg CO2e - and when you're using hundreds of bags per project, this adds up.
Inadequate Protection Increases E-Waste
​Bubble bags offer very little structural protection. Screens can crack during transport, and damaged monitors often can’t be repaired. This leads to unnecessary electronic waste, one of the world’s fastest-growing and most environmentally harmful waste streams.
Microplastic Pollution
Over time, bubble bags can shed tiny plastic particles that enter waterways, soil, and eventually the food chain. Plastic film is one of the top contributors to marine microplastic pollution.
